News for First Week in September!

It’s the first week of September, the summer holidays are over, time to turn to things autumnal – like Britain’s Biggest Curry Party!   Here’s some of the things we have going on:

College Capers!

whale-marker Southampton City College and LeSoCo in Lewisham are both taking part in Britain’s Biggest Curry Party with a range of fund-raising activities throughout the week including attempting to build the tallest tower of pappadums in the UK (record currently stands at 5′ 8″ – anyone got a ladder?) and a charity dinner. We will keep you informed of all they’re doing as we receive the information. If you or your College want to join in the fun, register here on the BBCP site or contact Charlie on 07971 472768  e:bbcp@jameswhalefund.org  – And have a look at all the great ideas for ways Colleges can be involved. We’d love to get an inter-college competition going for the Pappadum Tower!

whale-markerMembers of the Federation of Bangladeshi Caterers (FOBC)and the Bangladeshi Caterers Association (BCA) up and down the country from Aberdeen to London are also getting involved with fundraising for the James Whale Fund for Kidney cancer from running raffles to creating a special dish for BBCP week. We’ll be letting you know the details of the restaurants as they are confirmed. If you aren’t able to host your own curry party, you could go along to your nearest participating restaurant and join in the fun there!
